Any way: best sequence is standard attack - rage - double attack by swordsman - RIP consequences! ;)
Okamma blade in actions not even more than..! ;)
So the harpooner is very effective against "lesser" enemies with high numbers/mob, rats f.ex. Honestly I'm impressed by the devs. All the six player classes and its sub-classes have value if used wisely, in tandem with each other. They've struck a really good balance with that.
I agree with all of this, but the Harpooner is actually also very effective against high HP enemies as the throw inflicts bleeding. I only have one Spearman in my band of 14 (+ ponies and two bears) he's a Harpooner and has one of the highest kill rates. I gave him the Tinkerer profession, he's now a Journeyman which adds +6% Critical. Literally one in three of his attacks with that purple polearm I have on him is a critical.
Good point. You've probably upgraded the "piercing throw" ability to apply bleeding to all hit targets rather than just the first one, haven't you ? I haven't done that yet, as I've prioritized upgrading other mercs/skills. It would give the damage dealt from the throw a big boost.
I used to abuse the hell out of this in rat nests especially.
