of course rope is too short means you have to find shorter rockwalls .. unstable means you try to position it not "ontop" of the hill .. you always have to position it on a place, where you also can go to - which means somwhat a flat / non rocky position .. also it can tell you, that you are too far away - so you have to move your group more to the desired position first
Anyone who has ever used anything like this in real life would get it (as I did) without a second's thought, hah. Why I feel they are well done, as they are.
And yea, I have them all over my map too. Used them when I...uh...make 'friends' with merchants...shortcuts. Getting to areas, with secrets or not, that I feel I want to sit on. Amazingly convenient.
