The Wild Animal Tamer?

I have yet to find how to solve this quest. I need to find a wolf?

in the grossberg region (which is north of your starting region)to the west(if i remember correctly) of the first town you find there will me a fisherman's hut, and slightly past that there is a large wolf on the riverbank. just surround it with at least two troops and you can use a piece of rope from your inventory to capture it ending the battle and boom, there's your pet wolf.

You have to get the animals or people close to death like a point or 2 i think and then if you have chains for people and rope for animals you can be given the capture option. I've been able to capture a few people and animals but it seems to be a little monkey at times.

I can't find this wolf anywhere around the camp where they are asking me to find it.
I think it's possible that I killed the wolf before getting the quest. Does it remain marked in the map as a pending quest forever if i killed the wolf?

You'll know it when you see it. It's on the beach and brings up a dialogue that he's wearing a collar.

I don't see this wolf on the beach to the west of the camp where we get the quest... I fear I might have found him before getting the quest and killed him, but I don't remember :D
