As i understand how it works: you have to get the enemies to low HP and engaged in combat with one of your mercs. then if you walk up to that enemy with another one of your mercs the ability to knock them out appears. However it seems you are only allowed to capture one enemy per fight. Probably for economy balance reasons?

The chains cost 20 gold each, but you get them back when you deliver a prisoner to the Jail. the payment you get is 110 gold per prisoner in my experience. I don't know if some prisoners are worth more than others.

Also, hilariously, you are able to chain one of your own guys and sell them to the prison too.

You can capture every enemy if you like. You just need enough chains for it. I suggest buying 3 chains for prisoners to sell and another 3 chains to potentially fill vocations like scholar, angler etc. This way you can fill every vocation while not going to deep down the rabbit hole of this games scaling system.

Huh, using slaves for mining, cooking etc.is an ingenious idea. You don't pay them (aside from food) and they do not count to party size!

I tried about a dozen more battles now and had no chance to get prisoners. And yes, I do have chains in my inventory

I wouldnt use slaves as work force, becouse you will miss out on stats boosts. Every proffesion level and with levels come stats boosts.

Some npc you cant capture, like unique bosses. Pick person you want to capture, one party member need to be in battle with him ( melee fight/engagement or whatever its called ), then you need to take that npc under 50% health ( i am not sure about exact %, but it usually worked for me at <50% ), then you need your second companion to go next to person you want to capture and icon in action bar will pop up, thats it , you just hit it and done.

Keep in mind, you cant sell guards to prison, just outlaws. ( i havent found another jail yet )

Edit: Also, you can sell only 4 npc to jail, bigger level, better money.
Just dont forget, you need to feed them.
Edit 2: You can capture more than 1 npc in battle, there is no limit.

Hi. Tell me guys. I have captured a citizen. From now on, I cannot sell it. He eats my food. I can’t let it go, the game mechanic doesn’t allow it. Has anyone encountered this? What should I do?
