How do you get white leather for Tier 3 weapons?

Occasionally you'll see a sort of mist hovering over areas you've already explored, usually a forest. A unique patrol of "ghost" animals will spawn in that fog and you get the leather from them.

Be careful during these fights, though. When you get hit by these anilals, you get a "terror" debuff. 5 stacks and that individual runs from the battlefield. Killing an enemy removes a stack. There is also a nightmare (miniboss) that spawns and will afflict 2 members with a debuff that will give them 3 stacks of terror at the end of their turn unless they move next to each other to remove it. Aside from these mechanics, pretty straight forward fight with wolves and boars that dont really hit that hard.

thanks! I encountered one of them, but wasn't sure to take them on and ignored them :/
I was overloaded and not-rested anyway, so it was probably for the best.

They seem to spawn more or less frequently near the remote hunting camp, where you get the quest for the wolf-hunt. So next time then :)
