Border Pass(spoilers)

Finished most things in Tildren and Arthes. Just the Brokers tale, which I need to get past the border to Gosenberg, and also the Scholars tale - not sure what to do.

I don't have a Border Pass this time though. I could pay the 200 Krowns but I guess that will be every time without a pass. I'm guessing I should have got one from somewhere. Is this so, and anyone tell me where?

I mistakenly thought Septelle quest was for a pass, but it wasn't a pass - it was a recipe.

If only... but no. You pay only once and you're done.

Weird you don't have 2 border pass already.

You earn a border pass everytime you complete a scenario in a region (to be able to play another region!!!)

You have one guaranteed in Vertruse top left corner of the map with first aid skill book and run skill book.

A recent thread talked about another one in a secret location. But I'm really not sure of it... I need to check that!!!

I went first to Arthes, and unless I get one for The Scholars Tale, I believe I've done everything else.

Anyway, if It's a one time pay, I'll pay the 200. I just don't like to miss things.

You can get to Arthes for free. You can setup 2 pitons on the cliff left side of the border on each side of the wall so you can have easy access in the future. That way you can save money until you have uncle scrooge amounts.

That's interesting.

I had a bit of trouble with Pitons, but finally managed to place a few. Can you put them so you can go up, or only set them from the top?

I did have over 10,000 Krowns at one time, but what with no jail in Arthes, so no prisoner money, and a lot of searching for stuff - I'm down to about 3,000 now. I can just spend time in Tildren if I want to build it up. Hopefully get a few hard missions, so I get Lvl 7 equipment drops.

I've done everything in Arthes now, except one rats nest - which I'm determined to fully complete next time - and I have a mercenary treasure map, which is up in some snowy mountains somewhere.

You can only place them from the top. So the initial setup will be the only difficulty.

so how do you get the border pass in Arthes? I completed the region and got nothing. That you can get TO Arthes for free is no help at all since me and the thread opener is already there -.- but I guess he doesn´t care anymore since he paid for the access. I will also pay because running around with 12 guys and searching for it costs me more money. sad

The thread opener also probably doesn't even play the game anymore, seeing as the post is from early last year.

Anyway, not every zone has a border pass. If I remember correctly, there are two passes from completing Tiltren and...Vertruse, I believe...scenarios, and one at some secret loot spot somewhere in the game (can't recall where).

Unless Arthes was the zone with the Border Pass in the secret loot spot, then I don't believe it has one.

I believe that Arthes is the only scenario that doesn't grant you a border pass, so if you start in Arthes - then yeah, that's going to be confusing.

You can of course pay the 200 Krowns - only need to do that once, and from thereon you can gain 1 pass per scenario completed, or you can go up into the mountains and drop into Tiltren using a Piton.

The Piton trick can be used to bypass quite a few (but not all) borders, but the borders still remain closed this way, so at some point once you can it's better to open then up normally using the pass or Krowns.

Edit to Add;
You can use Piton for Tiltren to Arthes, Arthes to Tiltren, Mount Altis to Ludern, and Ludern to Vertruse.
You can't (to the best of my knowledge) get into Drombach without going through the border once, but once in you can return via Piton, not that this is very useful.

Found the secret spot that has the border pass.
It's located in Vertruse province.
It is located right at the top of the province, near the flooded mine. Go west from it, around the mountain and to the top of it. Then you need to use the piton to go down to a small beach. You should be able to see a tent. It also has a manual of Run and First Aid.
