We get SO MANY KP, its really not a problem to invest some in crafting armor/weapons, be sure you try recipes at least once to get that sweet KP's exp.
About carrying weight, remember more CON in your characters also means more carrying weight, but, usually Ponies will be your best friend. With two of them you are already carrying 120+ if im not mistaken. I think their base carry weight is 38 and 48 using the bags. (If im remembering right).
So two ponies alone you already have 96 carry weight, awesome right? Remember to not hoarde everthing, always use your materials asap. Start from camping gear first obviously.
I get Run and the evolution of Run, which i have no idea the name right now. After that i get recipes that should matter for early game, recipes i didnt find in merchants right now. Because gear is really important, you see. Even if you spend a point and find a weapon later on, the lvl 5 weapon you will eventually unlock is really good too, so it wont be wasted.
Since food is quite easy to get by and money is pretty much infinite, i dont bother with the rations and pay less money to troops, but remember every players plays different, some min-max even too much.
TLDR: Get Ponies - Look for Armor/Weapon Merchants - Craft only what you didnt find on them that you are in need. (Example, you have two spearmen but didnt find any spear to buy from NPC, well, spend a KP to a spear, no harm done).
But thanks for the input.
Done, i edited the info. Don't worry, its been some time i don't play because i am waiting for a new update. I hope i was able to help :)
Travelling and uncovering points of interest grants Knowledge, as does crafting things the first time.
Hmm interesting! Edit: I mean, the cointainer thing. Obviously.
after that some recipes for armor and weapons: the platemail and the first 2 shields, also the 1h hammer and pike recipes. my group consists mostly of brutes, Pikeniers and Archers so i need many things of the same type that dont rain in dozens as loot and it makes takeing the recipes worthwhile.
