Is there any way to abandon quests that include NPCs following you?
I accidentally accepted some quest for a crime lord apparently and they're asking me to kill a bunch of guard patrols. I dont want to do this, but I also cant seem to figure out how to get rid of this quest NPC that's now following me.

Am I forced to continue this quest? Really wish I hadnt accepted this quest and I sadly have no saves to fall back on.

Just ignore the quest if you don't want to do it. As long as you have this person in your party, you will critical hit on every attack with every one of your Companions. Have fun. Kill hard bad guys. Just imagine she is a brilliant leader who turns your lumpen thugs into the best mercs around.
When you get bored of this, finish the quest and hide out for a few days. No big deal.
This is all a feature, not a bug. Enjoy.

I'd love to hear the answer to this too. I don't believe that there is any way of doing this other than quest completion.

I just did that same quest, where Septelle wants to kill 2 guard patrols & a guard boss. I wasn't strong enough for that fight, and had to wait a while with her in tow the entire time before I could take that fight on.

I quickly realized I didn't mind having Septelle around though, because of the 100% chance of critical hits at all times, if she isn't engaged with an enemy.

I guess that's one way to look at it... Kinda bummed I've got another mouth to feed now.

She doesnt give me 100% crit though? She gives me absolutely nothing :/

She has a leader bonus that increases her strength, dexterity and constitution; meaning nothing for my party

however, there should be an option to dismiss the NPC who is in your party...

otherwise a little hint in the menu would be helpful to understand which quest the NPC belongs to
