Time Mechanics Questions
I was wondering how Time works in this game. I thought I read somewhere that time continues to move forward throughout the game (world map, in town buying items, etc). Is Time always moving forward in this game? Does passing time affect your party members in some way (hunger, tiredness, etc)?

I'm just wondering because while I like the concept of the game, I would not be a fan of time continually passing while I'm trying to decide what to do next, especially if taking my time would adversely affect my experience.

Only just started myself, but it seems while your in camp time is either stopped or extremely slowed down
Only working on the basis that I camped ,ate food, made some goods, equipped units etc and when I broke camp the caravan I wanted to attack was exactly where it was when I made camp
So you can do all your planning in camp, only cleared the first two areas but haven't felt rushed at any point yet
I did do about 3-4 false starts, but that's fine with any new game

There are heaps of areas where time stops completely (camp, in a shop, out-of-town location) and in the areas that it doesn't, you can pause by pressing space bar. The one exception to this is battles, where overworld time passes based on how many turns you take to finish a battle, which makes sense.

Simulation stop everytime a dialogue with NPCs or when you stay "inside" (Inns, market, mine etc).

Real time

1 game hour = 7.5 sec
1 game day = 3 min
1 game month = 90 min

Game Time

Rest : 8 hours

Travel Time

Cortia <> Stromkapp : 12-13 hours
Stromkapp <> Marheim : 11-12 hours

Battle Time
Whole turn ended in battle : + 2 hours

Turn ended
Time added
Cumulative Time
1
+ 2 hours
+ 2 hours
2
+ 2 hours
+ 4 hours
3
+ 2 hours
+ 6 hours

Interestingly (and confusingly) time still moves during combat (which is on a much smaller scale so it probably shouldn't). Sometimes you'll see the new wages notifications mid battle.

That's seems pretty accurate, 15 seconds to move and attack someone, it actually gives a lot of leeway to accommodate multiple attacks or more movement involved. Of course it counts as 2 in game hours and takes a few minutes to actually play, but within the framework of the conversion that seems reasonable and pretty well though out

Wow, thanks for the info guys. I'm really glad to see that there's a pause function and that time does stop in areas. (I thought that wasn't the case before, so maybe these were features added later?...) Anyway, sounds like you don't really feel rushed in the gameplay, which was my main concern. And thanks for the time breakdown Romain.

I did some testing on the overworld and found that it checks if you're moving every 30 seconds and stops time if you're not. Patrols still move around but time (and shadows) stand still.

Thanks for the info!
