Hmm... yeah, I have no idea what's going on with the lockpicking either :-P
The sounds seem to occur pretty much anywhere when I move the mouse quicker, but not at all if I'm slow. Am I looking for a particular sound, or no sound, or...?

...hmm, think I'm starting to get it... you have to carefully test how far the pick will lean inward at certain points, until you find the spot where it'll push straight without breaking... can't tell if the sounds are giving cues for that or not yet...

Hey guys. I think I can help with this. First, position the lockpick and then hold the LMB if it rattles that is a bad spot. So, move it to a position where the pick can move freely. It is pretty similar to lockpicking in skyrim or even dying light. The difference is some locks I've seen can have up to 3 lock tumblers on 1 lock (you can see the bars that need to be picked on the left side of the lock. Hope this helps!

I personally rather the mini game be removed and a stat based % applied to success chance of picking the lock. Not a fan of the lock pick mini game at all.

The lockpick minigame doesn't fit the gameplay here. It's has to be more casual (i.e. faster to pass) or be removed and replaced by stat based "dice roll" as suggested earlier

I didn't have problems with the lockpicks, just keep testing locations with your lockpick by holding down just long enough for the lockpick to stop moving until you get to the location where the lockpick doesn't stop and actually entered the hole.

I liked that it wasn't just an entirely too easy Skyrim lockpicking or eww definitely not a dice roll.

I like lockpicking that requires some active learning and skill... no, it doesn't "have to" be changed or removed.

what do you mean doesn't fit the gameplay? If it was the only minigame here I can understand but its clear they want to go this route. From what I saw its the same with crafting and mining ore (probably even more since its only a demo). The lockpicking is pretty straightforward and don't know why people are having issues with it lol.

I don't mind something different, would rather something fail because I messed up instead of leaving it to a percent based system for these minigames.

Given that "gameplay" is a nebulous nothing-term that most people just use as a euphemism to frame "I liked it" or "I didn't like it" as a critique of game design... I suspect the point is more that they just didn't like it.

I liked the idea of the lockpick mini game, but I don't see the point of the thief skill if we use the minigame. It doesn't seem to affect anything worthwhile. I'd rather it be skill-based, as others above me have suggested. Maybe a simple toggle in the options or at the beginning of a new game to select which way a player wants it.
