Sometimes adding more races without them making any sense just bloats the game and minus the immersion factor...
Witcher style.
Pretty much Battle Brothers style. Great game and I understand the appeal, have like 500+ hours in it. But at this point I really would appreciate a higher fantasy setting.
Try & play Battle Brothers like this game & you will get stomped. Other than the management side, I don't get the comparison.... BB is RPG Chess (1700+ hours
Agreed, low fantasy setting Witcher Style (including Alchemy, beasts and monsters, magic, casters, necromancy cults, etc). Some "otherwordly trials" (be it through portals, in "the veil", "limbo", inside "dreams", "hell" or any other instanced randomly generated repeatable short dungeon missions) would be great as well. Having more races would be nice: Orcs, Goblins, Faefolk, etc don't need to be cliche; they can be grounded and could fit nicely this setting.
We're taking a more grounded approach with this world, with fantastical elements taking more of a backseat. There may very well be some things floating around that science has some trouble explaining however...

Amazing to hear! I really hope you will fulfill your vision for this game and looking forward to seeing the progress throughout the EA period!
Thank you for taking the time to give us an idea of the approach you are taking and best of luck!
Humans - Undead - Goblins - Orcs - Ghouls e.t.c - ALL have totaly different strategy and it's VERY cool.
Here, if u d't plan to add fantasy stuff, you realy should invest a lot in human enemies variety to let combat stay fresh and not turn to boring repeating stuff.
