unlike the american subs the monsun gruppe u-boats had no air superiority to assist them.
there are warships to sink i found three dido-class cruisers in capetown (i sunk one with great difficulty as i missed with my first shots and had to reload all while avoiding the destroyers guarding the port!) i am on my fourth patrol and will be attacking pearl harbour (must be something big in there as there's a lot of destroyers prowling around the entrance!)
the best point of u-boat mssions is sneaking into the harbours and launching surprise attacks on morred ships (on my second patrol i did a surface action where i ran into a harbour on the surface sunk a fishing fleet with the deck gun and salied off before they could react!).
however u-boat missions does sort of depend on what floats your boat so to speak.
if anyone is struggling i reccomend getting a copy of The U-Boat Commanders Handbook and the osprey book U-Boat Tactics In World War II i have both books on the desk next to my pc whenever i sail out on a patrol and they have helped me greatly
