Something is off about this game
I mean... ok. It's a game that has a Stargate vibe. It is clearly stated that the story takes place at the end of the seventh season and introduces new characters. So far so good. But where is the rest? Where is the epic intro from the series that was supposed to make me sit up in my chair and feel like I was watching my favorite show again? Where's Jerry Goldsmith's (David Arnold´s) famous theme song?

I've only just started playing, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be excited about this one at all...

I get what you mean, I played the demo and have watch tons of gameplay. It just seems flat and uninspired. A damn shame, really, and already dead and forgotten.

EDIT: So I finished the game today and I have to say it's not worth it. Story-wise it's not bad, but it's getting to the level of those filler episodes that were always several in a season. I guess I wouldn't mind the Commandos style of gameplay, but I'd prefer a classic FPS or 3rdPS. The characters are pretty decent, but they didn't grow on me. The sad thing is that you don't meet anyone familiar. The maps are imaginative, but often repetitive. I have no problem with the visuals of the whole game. My big complaint is with the music, because there is absolutely no familiar theme from the movies or TV shows. There are some ambient background sounds, but considering Joel Goldsmith and David Arnold created such iconic themes and they don't make a single appearance, it's a shame.

It's a shame. Stargate would have deserved a great game. This is just mediocre. And mediocre is bad for Stargate.
