Demo Feedback
I love to play games like Robin Hood, Chicago 1930, Commandos, Desperados III, Jagged Alliance III, Shadow Gambit, Shadow Tactics; however, after playing the demo, Timekeepers doesn't seem to manage to captivate my interest. Following that, I would like to share some of my impressions.

The scenery and assets look generic, the enemies all look mostly the same, and characters appear way too small, even when zoomed in. The worst part of my experience is that besides the main menu and unit names, there is nothing indicating that this is a Stargate game. The map feels like an obstacle course filled with randomly placed enemies that don't pose any threat or challenge to overcome, and they also look mostly the same.

The tactical mode could be an interesting option, yet it appears to be only half-baked. The way it was implemented makes it not very useful, and without paying attention, it can even be dangerous to use it.

Only one command can be given and carried out by a character at any given time. If it were possible to issue a chain of commands, for example, sneak up behind an enemy, knock him out, tie him up, carry him to a designated spot to dispose of the body, and walk to the next point, while another character is climbing up on a ledge to stun a guard so the other can safely sneak past him to await his next set of orders, this mode would be useful.

Since there doesn't appear to be any way to set individual waypoints, the point a character is ordered to walk to must be selected very carefully. Otherwise, there is a risk of getting shot or killed. This makes using the tactical mode dangerous because an algorithm calculates and sets the shortest path for the character to follow, putting him at risk of getting shot and killed.

While I do think that this is going to be a solid game, the impressions the demo left me with are not particularly encouraging me to look forward to its release. Maybe I will give it a chance, if only for the hope that this demo doesn't reflect what the full release has to offer, though this isn't likely to happen anytime soon. Lastly, I just wish you all the best for the upcoming release. If anything I have stated is incorrect, please let me know.

bruh "and they also look mostly the same" is a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid complaint... go onto any military base and from a distance everyone looks the same

that is a complaint and not a valid criticism as this aint a rpg or even in context of the game type it aint gangbangers, mutated stuff or monsters in the wilds.... it is an army and looking the same is expected and mandatory via outfits. It is no different from saying you got too inconveniently wet... while swimming

Just found the demo today after this was brought to my attention by a friend that is a huge fan of the Stargate IP and wanted my opinion as I do like the genre of games mentioned by OP (though I prefer the more pure stealth ones like Commandos and the releases by Mimimi) and after playing through it I feel a lot of the changes in the controls are different for the sake of being different which is not a good thing.

The single biggest problem being the LMB to interact and RMB to move vs every other game in the genre using a single click to do both. The edge screen scroll does not work very well either once turned on. The Tactical mode is also a large pain especially with the inability to set up to fire off the quick action at a later time. Also a myriad of other little things like I wanted to issue a run up and knock this guy out order I had to start running first then issue the KO order as compared to just double click the guy.

The one nice thing I found in this is the patrol timers option so instead of counting it down myself I can see when targets are going to move from the spot to their next.

the demo was okay to show off how combat works, but would have been nice to show other features, hoping its not completly linear, would like to choose what planets to go to etc. xcom style gear loadouts at base, lvling up team etc.

I'm having an issue with tactical mode where the characters go do something different than what they were told. For instance, I set up an ambush where Max whistles and then goes into camo. Then as the enemy walks toward Max, I enter tactical to have both Max and Eva sneak up to attack the two enemies. What happened? Max walks off somewhere the game pointed to and Eva just sits there doing nothing, Max is discovered by the enemies walking up and the whole exercise is a mess. Not the first time it has happened either. If this happens in the release version, it's not going to go well, just one this one thing alone because it sparks unnecessary reloads because the game couldn't handle the commands it's teaches you to use.
