Why?
1. No marketing at all.
2. They choose very niche genre (Stealth Strategy) instead of making Mass Effect like narrative driven Action RPG (Stargate is perfect for this) or MMORPG (could fit Stargate too).
3. New Stargate game is beeing made by inexperienced indie team, likely with very low indie budget (Why?!).
4. Stargate is not on the air for ~12 years (not counting terrible Origins).
5. It seems that new MGM/Amazon Stargate TV Show was cancelled or frozen for another decade. It would make more sense to make new Stargate game after the release of the new show.
Ah, yes, the very inexperienced indie team of Slitherine, a company that has only been developing strategy games for, oh, over two decades. Also, Desperados 3 and Shadow Tactics did really well. It's low budget and niche, but it sells well and makes profit almost every time.
Slitherine is just a publisher. Steam page is wrong. Real developer is called "CreativeForge Games" and they are a small indie studio from Poland.

Slitherine Poland is developing this game, we are the publisher and we are the developer.
We'll have some solid updates for you on Stargate soon, don't worry. We just need a little more time.
Thanks,
Edmon
Thank you for your response and letting us know. Slitherine Poland sounds interesting.
I hope that you will manage to make a good game and it will not be a flop.
Good luck with the development of the game.
I get where you're coming from, and I was waiting for several of those projects, too, but this developer isn't responsible for all that. Stargate has the misfortune of being owned by MGM, which hasn't been all that stable for like 20 years now. That's probably why so many Stargate game projects got cancelled. Now that MGM is owned by Amazon, overall stability should not be a problem.
It's amazing how poorly managed MGM was. They managed to get a product that fans love to the point we will watch a very formulaic show for 14 years. Rarely did you ever see any merch anywhere. Meanwhile Rick & Morty and The Boys have thrown their IP into everything from fast food to CoD and Fortnite.
As bad as Besos is at least he's a scifi nerd. So hopefully that extends to the better Star * franchise.
Yeah, it's really amazing how little SG-1 stuff there was out there. Farscape had just as much, if not more merch, and it was around for half as long--less, really.
This makes me sad. As much as I hate all crossovers it makes good money and good money means more good stories for the franchise, sad it probably wont ever get more.
They will probably wait it out a little longer due to marketing overlap with AAA games coming out this and next month. If they are looking to sell well, well idk when the best time will be for this masterpiece of a game.
