Even trying to remap the controls doesn't work. It simply won't recognize or accept any mouse or keyboard input whatsoever.
The control map under simulator is different "turn left and turn right" are actual roll left and roll right so, conversely "roll left and roll right" are rudder left and rudder right.
I've got my xbox one controller mapped to pretty much what the xbox version of this game was so, L1 and R1 are rudder controls RT and LT are speed up and speed down , left control stick is Pitch Up and Pitch Down (inverted) and roll left and roll right. That's for flight controls.
I remember constantly deploying and retracting the landing gear when I played it on the 360 so I mapped it to another button. I thought there was a "free look" around option as well but I can't seem to remember that or prove that and I'd have to dig out the 360 to check it and that's buried in a box somewhere.
Anyway, it's possible to get it to work and get it to fly but the arcade option is probably the worst controls for it!
