Tomorrow City Lagoon, Wilco long jump

I made the mistake of thinning the supports and knocking over a pillar.
Which permanently locks me out of saving a key Gremlin that leads to like 3 other rewards...
I've tried alt F4ing when I realised the mistake but it was too late. It really is permanent.

However the wiki and vids show that a jump over that long gap was possible on the original.
Can anyone confirm if its still doable, or other such skips?
It's such a massive penalty on a hero run like this that it almost made me quit the game.
I've tried making the jump but it seems an inch too short. Not that i'm the best at this.

i did the same mistake but i managed to get to the floating platform by first dashing by the edge of the nearest platform and then jumping, then double-jumping and then spin attack to reach the platform. It's much easier to make this jump in this game than the original.

you can dash off of an edge, jump, then double jump, then spin attack for basically 4 jumps. use that to get to the gremlin.
