PLZZ help me!! I can't run the game, and i just bought it in this christmas

You must change the desktop screen resolution to 1024*768!
If the game work, you can in option menu change the game in windowed mode, and you can restore the desktop resolution. Next start the game run in windowed mode and works perfectly.
Sorry for my bad english.

Thank you! This helped me get the game running. I didn't have any luck using the custom DirectX9 DLL suggested in other posts. Here is a restatement of Liderc's instructions:

1. Change the Windows desktop resolution to 1024x768
2. Run SH3.exe to start the game
3. In the video setting menu, uncheck the full screen option
4. Save your game settings and exit the game
5. Return your Windows desktop resolution to its normal value
6. Re-run the game and it will appear in a 1024x768 window

When i got it running in window mode, like is discribed above. I checked the full screen option again, saved it, exited the game, started it up again. And now it's running fine on fullscreen with a 1920x1080 desktop resolution.

that did not work for me, now only runs in a 1024x768 box

Aside from the fix posted here, is there any other work around this problem?

My native resolution is 1920x1200, has anyone got it to run at this res without the tiny window?

I confirm it works well : change desktop res to 1024x768. Start the game and follow all the procedure described upper.
While the game runs correctly in window mode, check full screen again and quit/relaunch.
It works for me in full screen with 1920x1080 wide screen
Platform info : Windows 7 64 bits Pro. NVidia GTX 560 Ti, DirectX 11

I have a Windows 8 computer, and changing the screen resolution didn't help! It still comes up with the same error, PLEASE HELP ME!

sorry my English is Bad.
Right click the sh3.exe, open property,compatibility and use Win XP SP2

..or set compatibility to Win7 - that solved for me after upgrading to Win10. Doesn't matter which I guess, just pick something pre Win8.
