SH3 v1.0 Steam will not patch -.- help
Hey guys, im new to SH, i played destroyer command a long time. now i want to patch my game so i can get LSH 5.1 ... its 1.0 from steam... i am so fking frustrates... i spent hours in the web but didnt find ♥♥♥♥. please help me. how do i patch this game ...when i tried patrching it always said that sth was unknwon... missiondll some .txt ... it found everything unknown.. i tried dvd, digital, US and european patrches for 1.1 and so on up to 1.4 but nothing worked . i want my money back dammit. please help me. running vista, never had problems.

The version you get from Steam is already at 1.4, no need to update.
And never, ever use patches for other versions on your Steam games. Allways let Steam handle your games, thats what it is there for. Among other things ;)
You need to point any mod you want to use to ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Silent Hunter 3 or you will get error messages about changed or not patched files.

I was so frustrated because i read that its 1.0... thank you a lot ! :) I wish you a very nice day :) and also tomorrow..dont forget its motherday :) at least in europ, dont know about other countrys

I don't think that's correct; it says 1.0 in the game files.

Steam version of SH3.exe says 1.4.0.1 (basiclly the 1.4b)

I have 3 versions, the original DVD 1.0, the second DVD which is the update 1.4b and Steam.

The 1.4b is the final release by Ubisoft, there is no further patching of SH3. It is finished..
I know this because I had contacted them to push for a patch so SH3 could have MP through steam.. And they said no, the patch to 1.4b is final..

You're right, it is 1.4. It seems not all of the english versions of the various text files were updated to say this.

its a lazy update, like, "here it is..." and it's tossed at you.. That is why you have to check the SH3.exe's file version...
