Yes, I am on win7 64bit, no problems with this Steam edition. Older versions on disc will not work. Get it now while it´s on sale for 3. something €
cool thx for lettin me know :p2turret:
Yes. I run Windows 7, 32-bit & game works flawlessly. I also own Silent Hunter 5, & SH- Wolves of the Pacific, all of which are a steal @ $9.99 each. The U-boat missions DLC for SH-Wolves of the Pacific went on sale yesterday for $6.99. Go to subsim.com for hundreds of great free mods for all aspects of these games.
shop around for SH5, the price is not 'a steal' a quick google search will knock £10 off the price
.. and this (with a bit of work) works on win 7 & 8 only you may have some overheating issues dependant on your set-up. poor Ubisoft suport for there games as ever.
SH5 19,49 on steam currently, £4 on play & cheaper still on amazon.
SH5 steam edition is terrible. Avoid it.

The game is severely buggy and arguably unplayable in it's vanilla state. While modders have fixed most/all the issues and created a useful/fun game, none of these patches can be applied to the steam version since the modders had to actually modify the .exe files to get the game to work properly.

Steam's DRM packages the .exe files up and decodes them when you launch, preventing patches from modifying the .exe. Modding the steam version was abandoned some time ago.

Works fine on Win 7 64 bit. I installed the Living Silent Hunter mod as well, without issues. Note that the installation for the mod itself is quite tricky - reading the manual pretty much mandatory - but the mod can be installed without issues.

No idea about theflatlines comment about SH5 mods not working with the steam version of SH5.... I don't have SH5 and probably never will so really no idea about that. Modding SH3 works nicely tough.
The only u can buy is SH III and now is 3E45 buy this and u Freaks are Happy^:)
ahh and yes it runs perfekt on W7/64 bit
Sorry, running Win 7 64 bit and it does the same thing every other copy does, once you go to the bridge screen the graphics wonk out and it's unplayable.
For me it doesn't run at all on win7 64bit. Nothing even appears on screen. Compatibility mode also doesn't help.

Why are you commenting on SH5 in the SH3 forums? OP never mentioned SH5. If you are getting back on track about SH3 in your second paragraph then, ok. Otherwise you picked the wrong forum.
Anywho, you may be correct about the Steam version of SH3 game and it not being able to run mods. I don't see why but you should be able to mod the game as I have done with other games downloaded through Steam. You can play any game offline with a differnet .exe correct? Skyrim?
There is no problem with mods in Steamversion of SH3. I have the GWX and a host of other mods running through the Generic Mod Enabler plus, ofc, SH3 Commander. Would not play it otherwise...
Just bought the game yesterday and it works fine on my Windows 7 64-bit PC. I have it running at 1920x1080 using a widescreen mod and also the excellent GWX mod as well.
