Problem installing Grey Wolves Expansion

I cant play SH3 without Grey Wolves expansion..truly awesome mod. Now with a new PC I installed steam and downloaded SH3 from my games collection. But when I try to install Grey Wolves onver that -the Grey Wolves installer says that modded files are found and that the expansion MUST be installed over a clean copy of SH 3 patched to 1.4.
Any ideas about how I can get the expansion to install..I didnt know the basid game in Stean wsa modded or even what patch it has.

uninstall SH3 and mod using the control panel from windows?

goto regedit and delete any entries with Sh3 and grey wolves mod entries?

Not sure if you sorted out the problem but I had to download the expansion through torrent as the .exe download wouldn't work and kept asking for disk 7.

Thanks - yeah I managed to do that I got to through the torrent. Works good!
