afaik torpedos will be in save-mode for up to 300 meters
it is defenetly NOT 600m as the other guy said.
If you have impact fuse, you should make sureyou have pretty much 90degree angle to the surface of the ♥♥♥♥ where it will hit.
if your torpedo is set for too low dempth, it will have a bad angle (the ♥♥♥♥ is round there)
usually you can say 9 meter depth of the ship, go for 4-5m on torpedo depth
also, magnetic fuses often fail at 90degree impact on ship.
magnetic fuses were made to make the torpedo blow up 0.5-2m UNDER the ship.
They often work perfectly fine if you shoot them at, lets say, 45degree at 4 meter at a ship with 9 meter depth.
i personally like impact fuses better.
They are harder to make a shot that blows up, but do usually more damage (subjective opinion) even when magnetic fuses should/would whreck ships IRLwhen detonating under the ships keel.
BUT magnetic fuses are really... bugged sometimes.
Shooting under the keel often doesn nothing, even when it detonates.
go for impact at 90 detgee and 300-800m distance to be sure. make sure your boat is in a perfect 90 detree angle too and youhaven't been spottet (!)
In that case the enemy shipwill "zog-zag" and make impact fuses either useless or at least very risky touse... go for magnetic to have overall higher chance of success in that case
do NOT use magnetic fuse in bad weather with high waves for detonation under the keel.
High risk of it just diving under the boat because the waves push the boatup.
When it comes to impact fuse, rather too low depth than too deep (when waves)
