Norway's neutrality...

Ok so I'm just going to be quick and straightforward. February 1941, my WO spots a ship, I see the flag, it's Norwegian, I check the [Flaggen] tab, good to go. I sink the ship and it says it's neutral (Green icon), so im like ok wtf. Anyways, 2 weeks later my WO spots another Norwegian ship, I got bored so I just attacked, but when it sunk the icon was red (meaning it was enemy, like it should be). So wtf is going on? Does anyone happen to know?

You attacked a ship belonging to a country that was neutral, but then becomes at war at a different date. That is as far as I know.

I already stated that I checked the war status, which said I was in war with Norway for quite a while already. Germany was in war with Norway since April 1940 and this happened in 1941.

Any mods? plus The first ship maybe wasint a Norwegian maybe Swedish? Or something else with similar flag.

Yeah I use the MFM mod along with some other unrelated mods, but I'm 100% positive the first ship was Norwegian, as I approached it as it was sinking and saw the flag.

Newbie here. What is the Flaggen tab and how do you check it. I am using the plain steam version and do not see a tab for flags. Also, at night you can't see flags on ships, so how do you know what to kill?

Norway had an identity crisis during those years. It was officially Neutral and then officially Allied and then officially Nazi and then officially Allied. Sort of like France but without an occupation.

In your UZO there's a tab on the side that says flaggen, you can open that and check each country's alignment with Nazi Germany by date, and then compare it to your current in game date to see if the country is friendly, neutral or at war with you.

I just loaded the game, surfaced, and checked the UZO. I looked everywhere and I do not see a tab that says Flaggen. When I roll the mouse to the left or upper left, I get the slide out of the various stations. The notepad is in the upper right. The stopwatch is next to that. And at the bottom left is the ship identification manual and the ships officer bar on the bottom.

Are you running a mod?

I was running GWX at the time it's possible that mod adds it, I'm not sure... haven't played sh3 in a while
