SH3 Commander Question.

I have SH3 (Steam), and the GWXE-Gold mod all ready up and running fine. Everything thing is good there.

Now I want to install the SH3 Commander - So I downloaded it.

Also, the SH3 Commander Config files - downloaded.

Now before the Commander config files can be installed, the main SH3 Commander Mod must be installed first as per instructions. Ok, I get that.

So, installation path - can I install it anywhere outside of the main SH3 Directory or does SH3 Commander have to be installed 'Inside' the SH3 main game folder??

I know where the Commander Config files go so I'm ok with that one.

Works both ways. I personally have it inside my SH3 directory just for ease of access, but I've had it installed in a separate directory before and it works fine.

Ok thanks, just one more question. How do you get to use the options that SH3 Commander offer you? Do you open it as a seperate thing or is it just part of SH3 main game once installed? I've looked on YouTube for videos but suprisngly can't seem to find much on it.

You play SH III by starting it from SH III commander.

Oh I see, you've confused me a bit now because at the moment I'm starting SH3 from the SilentHunter/GWXW 3.0 desktop shortcut icon that GWXE gave me when I installed that.

Are you saying that I will no longer have to do that then but instead start the game from SH3 Commander??

Just want to be sure. I just don't want to break anything and you're the only one that's been here to help me out since the begining so thank you for that.

Yes, there is a check mark button which launches the games. If steam is not on when you start the game from SH3Commander, the steam launches but the game might not start; just hit the button again.
FYI, while playing via SH3Commander opens the game normally using steam, steam does not know you're playing the game and does not count the playing time etc. In case that matters...

Yeah what he said, sorry for not responding, I don't get notifications until I open Steam. Basically every time you want to play SH3, open SH3 Cmdr and start the game via the checkmark button. SH3 Cmdr saves all patrol logs and you get advanced settings when you click the little wrench button(should be in the bottom left if I remember correctly).
