SHIII.sdb
SP2 Rez fix uninstall.bat
SP2 Rez fix.bat
2. Run SP Rez fix.bat
3. Once that's done, open the d3d9.cfg with notepad and edit the lines:
resX=
resY=
So for example, if your screen is 1680x1050, you would do:
resX= 1680
resY = 1050
Also edit the line
enableScreenshots=1
and
screenshotPath=(any path you want)

Yes, I've done the 4Gb patch already. Thanks.
No clue what im doing wrong here... :(
Well that's a shame because I'm a total newbie having this game for only a couple of days and everything works fine for me, including the GWXE.
I'm using the Steam version and it must of been patched somehow for Steam Users because when opening the fresh default game the 16.9 widescreen is already there, no black bars either side, unlike the disc versions. So I just installed the resolution fix to stop my monitor from throwing up the nagging message about fixing the resolution.
However, I did completely uninstall SH3 via Steam and made sure to delete any left-over folders including the one in 'My Documents' before installing GWXE because they recommend to do that.
Then I re-installed the resolution fix after the GWXE Mod. I'm up and running first time with no issues (so far at least). I'm also playing this on Windows 10
I also made sure to select the Windows XP Compatibility Mode just in case but that was set automatically by the Steam version anyway.
Also using win 10, i will use compatibily mode.
Do you run the game from steam or the .exe in the sh3 folder?
Hope everything works out ok for you.

you take on the roll of Captain which you pick from U.Boat net you are given a patrol area or some secret mission,no hard rules
as long as you radio in time to time and let Donitz no where you are should check it out if your board on your own they do multiplayer like if 2 or more boats on same convoy.
happy hunting

If you ever decide to play on 100% realism with that mod, this tutorial will help you calculate ship paths, ranges and speeds without map icons :
