Then you transfer to Norway in 1942, that would be the 11th flotilla, in Bergen, and the list shows a type 7VIIC to start with. Now when you go to the store page, even tho your in a B, it should show a C available. Unless your useing a mod and failed to disclose this. My information is based off the default game. And by default, in the store page list, both B and C should show up.
Go check the store again, and click on the U-boat Icon at the top... If it is a mod, then they some how changed something to prevent it from displaying. Because by default they all will display because it is in the listing for the type 7 U-boat to be available in the list. So the other versions of that type should be in the store. At lest by default it is..
nobody mentioned anything about not being able to switch boats, and there is nothing in the doco that suggests it would interfere in any way with that, but no new boats.
if I start a new career at different dates, all the flotillas offer the right variety of boats for the start dates, but evidently I only get to use the viib for this career. :P
maybe I can hack my career file and force a new sub into it. even if it's buggy, that might trigger availability.
*sigh*
even went to visit some of the alternative bases for the 11th like Danzig... nada.
NbUboats4=2
Uboat4_0=1
Uboat4_1=3
Date40=1942
Month40=5
Starting40=Yes
TypeSub40=1
VersionSub40=1
How this is read...
NbUboats4=2 <- The number of U-Boat models for this flotilla.
Uboat4_0=1 <-U-Boat model to use, this is for the type 7 model
Uboat4_1=3 <-U-Boat model to use, this is for the type 21 model
Date40=1942 <-the year date this flotilla can start
Month40=5 <-the month date this flotilla can start
Starting40=Yes <- this is a starting flotilla, "TRUE"
TypeSub40=1 <-Model to have when you start this flotilla for the first time, a type 7 model
VersionSub40=1 <-Version of the model to have when you start this flotilla for the first time. A type VIIC (type 7C) will be used
-All versions should show up in the store automaticly if the model boat is available in the list, unless it has been removed.
According to the default config The type 7C is released in April 1940, which is the correct year. B's are pre war boats even for the type 9. C's were the new thing coming out in 1940.
Also in the default Basic config the ammo load out for the type 7C shows a launch date in 1939. So this boat has been available since before 1942, were your at now. So really it should show up in the store alone with any other type7 that is already released.
Unless they changed the date for the U-boat in the Basic.cfg file. If they changed the date for a latter release such as 1943. Then nothing in the store menue will be available untill this year.
I am sorry, I can only show you what the default layout is. I use my own privet mod which is nothing more than a default game enhancment. The game dosen't like being modded as is. Unless they set something up wrong in the basic config or some where. The newer models should show up for you.
*Did you go to the subsim fourms for help on this? They are at...
subsim.com
Most modders for this game is here..
cheers
which, given what you just wrote, means that there are no uboats available.
gotta be a bug in their mod program.
will repair to proper values and let u know how it turned out.
yup, that was it. for some weird reason, the LSH mod had marked all ports as have zero subs available. I changed it back to what the docs said they were supposed to have... and now subs are there for sale.
thanks again.
:)
Always maintain the correct number, and if a boat is released in 1940 for example, and the ammo list for that boat shows it is released for it too, do not place it in 1940, place it in the next year like 1941 of the choice flotilla you are useing.. This will prevent a conflict..
Make sure you kept a back up of the default game data folder in case you need to go back and resource..
and have fun!
