Im trying a hard mode run. Tips on making money?
Basically the title. I am starting a hardmode run and albeit I know already there's some differences, the main one for me is that you start with very little money and all your pre-set ways to make money compared to the other mode are gone and need to be purchased.

How can i make money in hardmode? Do i just need to deliver pizzas for 1 hour a day?

Cutting woods to get logs. Sell them to gain some money.
Fitting logs into your car is bit hard, but remove back seat will create more space.
(Still, I don't recommend to put too much logs - too much weight may be troublesome)

*To obtain Chainsaw, visit your brother.

At 17-18h, you can do pizza delivery. Not much, but still you can get $50-60 per night.

Once made some bucks, you can purchase wood splitter in furniture store ($350).
(*Note: To carrying wood splitter, you also required to ball hitch, which is buyable in gas station($400))

Or maybe try stash fund for OlTruck ($2500). This truck will be handy for any purpose so...
Other minor few things you should note:
-Your car Konig will be only one of the kind vehicle for first few weeks. Take care, don't jump into ditches, be love it.
Even if it's still pile of junk that is

-Buy Pruning loppers asap, otherwise you will run out of trees (for rare occasions, but I just heard story from other guy who cut down all trees, so just fair warning).

-Make friendship! Especially gas station guy, who has junkyard. He will allow to access there once friendship reaches 25, and there's a lot of useful stuff within.
Loot car radio and sell it in night race, that will be large profit ($110 per radio - around $2-3000 amass).

-Speaking of night race - if you have interested, use money for your car and participate the race. Maximum bet is $1000 so you'll earn $2000 per night!
Don't recommended if you turn on permadeath though (in midnight, time will pass faster - your needs also increase faster).

-About maple syrup production is... well, I don't need to explain this one to you, I guess, maybe? (Since you sounds like experience already)

You what? You have little to no experience and still want to try hard mode? That's crazy!
I like that spirit tbh.

Well, I can explain this topic obv, but I'd rather suggest to read fandom wiki:
https://monbazou.fandom.com/wiki/Sugar_Shack

In case if you have no time for this, here's super simple explanation:
1. Build sugar shack by pine logs (chop chop & carry 64 logs)
2. Buy spouts and tubes in the town
3. Pin spouts into maple trees & connect them by tubes
4. Once gathered sugar water, boil them by logs/firewoods to product syrup
5. Buy barrel in town & drip syrup into barrel
6. Once filled up barrel, bring it to town & sell
7. Repeat & Profit!

*Note: You will get paid $200 per barrel - sounds small? But here's point: you will continuously get paid each week for a while!
This payment will stack so if you try harder, you can expect larger paid.

Also once you gathered a tons of money, try upgrade equipment. More efficiency, more profit!

Don't forget the loppers before you start cutting trees down!! I get it to cut a few to make some money on day 1-2 but after that you have to trim and re-plant ASAP.
Is paying 30k to get connected to the powergrid worth it?

Eventually yes. The grid will remove the need to power your house and most importantly the sugarshack from the generator. It will also allow you to buy the electric heater which is much better.
Chop down three birch trees on day one, You can get all of the logs in the Konig for $254ish. Buy the loppers, shovel and watering can, insecticide probly too. Get the potato and weed seeds to get growing from day one.
Spam firewood trees around the sugarshack. I find birches worthwhile cos their logs are smaller and I just shove whole logs in the boiler cos lazy.
Then sell pine logs at the timber mill until you have the $750 for the towbar and the wood splitter. From here you're away.

Im starting to notice the issue that getting to the tow hitch and the splitter is a ♥♥♥♥♥.

I already have the sugar shack built, and even when i try to minmax the efficiency i still only manage 30 trees connected. but because of the size of the maple and pine trees i can only put the birch inside the car, is this the fastest way to get to the 750 for both?

You can take the other logs, just remove the other seats and boot lid and have them poking out the back and rest 2-3, maybe 4 logs in the engine bay ( don't install the bonnet) and drive in chase camera mode. Then park the splitting machine on the green circle at Francis' firewood drop off point and carry the logs to it for the ultimate lazy way of doing firewood deliveries.
