Which maple syrup related update to buy first?
I'm thinking about the osmosis thing, but I'm also thinking about waiting a bit more to be able to hook up to the electric network.
Also, if you can your own syrup, will the cans disappear if you consume the syrup?

In my case it was:
- 16 barrels (2 sets, 8 barrels lying flat is max capacity of bed)
- osmosis (double the speed of production)
- grid connection
- electric evaporator
- second tank
- canning machine
Cans can be recycled endlessly, you need only new lids.
Connecting about 100 trees balances the flow to the evaporator (upgraded).
After going electric, amount of money is absurd. It reminds me ETS2.

I would get connected to the grid first. Then the electric evaporator. It's so much more convenient when you don't have to deal with firewood anymore.

Tank first.. this allows everything to work better later

Then osmosis as this speeds up the whole process and the tank helps with this.

Then get lots of barrels and use this to sell to the feds.

Plant as many trees and tap as many as you can

Save up for grid power then get the heater and go to town

The osmosis makes it so you're not making syrup until 3am so that's probably the best first upgrade. The second tank is worthwhile only if you've got the trees tapped to make use of it. It seems there's a cap of 120 trees as any I go over it wont show up. I'd love to get the grid power and heater but that's close to 50k on it's own. I don't really know how people are buying those things without the upgrades mentioned before it. It'd seem like it'd be extremely frustrating making 2 barrels of syrup a night for months as opposed to basically doubling that with the said upgrades.

err no there not i currently have around 300, if yours won't go above 120 you either have a bug or you forgot to connect a cable somewhere.

hmm, good to know I'll check my connections.

Uh.. Osmosis will continue to work as long as there is fluid in the tank and this is why the tank upgrade is the most important at first.

You can plant and tap well over 120 trees so it sounds like your runs are messed up somewhere and need work. I am currently at 174 trees tapped and over 700 trees planted without issues.

You should be able to produce more than 2 barrels a night for months as that sounds again you aren't either playing efficiently or limited in time.

If you squeez them tightly, I think you can actually fit 12-14 barrels and because they are in so tight they can’t fly out because there is nowhere for them to go
Depending on if you're trying to speedrun friendships, probably the canning machine first. Then, bigger indoors tank, osmosis. After connecting to the grid, get the electric heater immediately. After that, I highly recommend getting a 2nd outdoors tank and the tank for the pickup truck.

Most important thing is to plant lots of trees. Maples for syrup, birches for firewood.
I'd like to upgrade electric heater 'cause it's so tedious to make a pile of firewoods.

Only issue is, it's most expensive ones... (heater itself doesn't highest cost, but you also needs power grid so that's a quite large sum)
Yeah, again, the power grid is the biggest hurdle. But everything else is then easy to get.
Do the boiler firewood the lazy way and shove whole logs in the boiler.

I agree, the power grid is the most useful but most expensive update. I do not enjoy at all doing the firewood stuff. ;-)
Having 300-500 trees is a very good idea - and for free.
