Engine won't start
Hey, here is a maybe stupid questions, but anyway...
I bought the performance engine for the Konig and also bought the two things (forgot the names XD) that will stick to the left and right side of the engine. In general, a took the ALL the car parts of and back on again. I swapped several parts for the intermediate/sport stuff you could buy from the guy at the church.
Long story short: the engine won't start. I can hear it is trying to start, but even after several seconds it won't start. There is a yellow engine light on, this surely has to mean something. I just can't figure out what.
I brought the old parts to the junkyard already so I cannot check if I missed something. But what could it be?

Could it be the new ECU I attached? I don't have the turbo, maybe that is incompatible?

The ECU shouldn’t be the problem. Start with the simple things, like does it have fuel. Did you miss any bolts or parts? Also, you you have the right parts? There are 2 aftermarket intakes, one for turbo and one that is individual throttle bodies. You need the headers for the ITB intake, but you need the turbo manifold to go with the turbo intake. And there is an inter cooler that goes with the turbo kit.

I checked again every part - no success.
After a while I found that the ECU was not bolted and then I accidentally took it out. I put it back again, bolted it down - and the car was able to start! :) Crazy...

BTW: Thanks for your answer and the explanations, John. I will keep that in mind.

I recently found that you don't n e e d a header if you run ITB, but you don't get cool backpressure pops or flames out of the hood yet unfortunately.

I hope they add pops and flames to this set up and don't add the possibility of blowing up your engine! Hahahah :happypopo:
