WINDOWS 10 and Silent Hunter 4

When I uprgread my Windows 8.1 to 10, Silent Hunter dont work for me. I tried start the game but nothing happens. Then I tried change compatibiliti to Win 7, Win Vista etc, but nothing happen again. How can I solved this issue? Does anyone have similar problem? THX

I will never upgrade to 10, it has to sit for a few year and simmer for awhile...

However, maybe through the upgrade process, the reg infomation of the game got messed up, Uninstall it and reinstall it...see if that helps..

I tried to reinstall the game same problem. So I come back to Windows 8.1 where SH4 work fine.Windows 10 looks very good but is slow for me. Perhaps when it has a better optimization ... :-)

I would let it sit in the corner and stew for awhile, I hear tell in 2020 win7 will no longer be supported, so that should give microsoft time to "fix" 10 to get it to work right by then.. but for me, I be moving onto 8.1.

I have found that the original game and patch up to 1.4 work fine on Win 10. When you install the U-Boat Missions (V1.5) you get a compatibility error and the game wont launch at all. No answer yet.

Fixed by doing a complete uninstall / re-install and now runs with base and uboat missions on V10

I put Win XP SP 3 working fine .

In Windows 10, Go to properties on the game, choose "Compatibility" and disable DPI Scaling at high resolution, it'll run after that.

Win 10 Problem with start game ... after click START i have got info " the game is already run "

aahh the vista platform OS's, got to love them or hate them. I am on win7 64bit, my page file is 4gig, but I have 8gig ram and a 1 gig gp card. So.. I would try to dissable the steam overlay or goto the game directory and set a compatability mod to the OS supported.

Win10 is not that old game friendly, Then again most vista platforms are not anyway. But, I have seen more complaints and so loud and clear about Win10 that it makes me def to those who praise it.

Check the subsim fourms to see if they have a fix there. All the silent hunter games live there, the web sight is dedacated to it, your answare may be there than here..
