1.4 or 1.5 patch?

So I just bought this game and was wondering why I couldn't advance missions. Learned that it was due to a bug in ver 1.3. I searched and downloaded the patch from ubi and it told me the game wasn't installed. Read the forums here and learned of the steam patcher. Ran it, Downloaded it, clicked Yes to run, nothing. Still 1.3.

Then I read about the U boat exp pack that updates it automatically for about 5 bucks someone said. No longer exists. Just the all in one for $40. I already own SH 2-5 and I'm not about to smack down another $40 just for a patch.

Has this ever been resolved?

Actually the U-Boat missions expansion is on steam by itself as well, you don't have to get the all in one. Type in in silent hunter 4 in the search bar and you should see it in the results for $10.
