Lots of people report that this game (with u-boat missions) works on windows 10 just fine.

If for some reason it doesn't for you.. there are fairly simple fixes to help it as well. I would say, smooth sailing.

I had trouble getting this to run on Windows 10. After some fiddling around, I found that checking the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" fixed the issue. This checkbox is on the compatibility properties tab for the SH4.exe executable file.

I had to enable WIndows XP service pack 3 compatibility mode as well for it to work.

never had any issue as of today. whatever major update they did on windows 10, i had to run settings for an older version. works fine now

SH4 Has always worked well on Windows 10 for me. I try and keep my OS up to date. You never know when something may actually improve things. The only issue I had was the opening vid sequence was blank. The voice over was fine. Just clicking the mouse jumped past that issue. Now after my last NVIDIA update the opening sequence is visable. Was nice to finally see it.

I wasn't able to play after initial install to Win10. Patching didn't help either. When I clicked play, the program would run (I could find it in task manager), but I saw nothing at all.

What helped is Chugly11, and the link to subsim. I read the link and found the problem that fixed things for me.

Find the file under SH4.exe file under Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\SH4 (or where ever you installed everything). Right click on the SH4.exe file, and go to compatibility tab. Check the box, "Disable display scaling on high DPI setting". That's it. No XP SP3. No run as administrator. Just check that box, and it is works.

I think... I haven't played to see if it crashes later. But at least I got past the first problem many others have seen.

There's no compatibility tab for me, and I can't find any other way to fix it, so I think I'm just screwed.

It is there if you are using WIndows 10. Just follow the the link exactly and it will work.
