Is Bolstering a permanent upgrade?

I reached lvl 24, and I'm still struggling with everything. Zero to no info on the the web, and i got million of questions :D

Btw, i love the game. Rly nice mix of everything, love the difficulty. But i kind of killed Lammas (the bird that roams the map) and the Nyris (the seed/vine) monster, on the same map :D was hard, used almost all the stuff i had on me, but i managed. I got no idea what to do with their drops :D i'm sure there's quests later that will explain it all. Also, one of the first things i did was reached the oracle, and got Zun skill. Not sure if it was luck, or this was supposed to happen this early. Loved it.

biggest questions i have:

1. The Exotic Arms dealer. This is were we get end game weapons, or is this mid tier? is there some unique weapons to find or craft?

2. The Fortress key. Not really sure does it just unlock the arena with goblins, so you can move forward or there's more to it?

3. I just realised i lost my Ascension key/crystal. The thing you carry from the start. I just visited every town, every chest, no sign of it. I guess i dropped it in some dungeon by accident. Was about to hand it to the dude that requires you to be lvl 15, and realised its gone.. Can those be farmed? if so where? how? :D Or is this a progression breaker?

4. So i discovered the Statue, that is used if you have Chivalry. But this was at the very start of the game. Now, i do have Chivalry, but i have no freaking clue where the statue was :D Is it possible to mark the map? or to get the hint about the statue from somewhere?

EDIT: 3.About the Ascension key. Actualy, i placed the Ascension thing on some pedestal in a temple :D there were 3 pedestals, i only ever had that one crystal

A Nyris AND Lamassu on the same tile - wow, that is wild especially to encounter early game. It's those crazy and unpredictable moments I also enjoy and make each playthrough unique.

The Oracle is a mid-game quest, so definitely not easy to do early.

1. The Exotic Arms dealer - Yes you can some high-end gear from him but not everything. There are indeed unique items, some if dropped from elite bandits.

2. The Fortress key - It lets you out of the area where you had the boss fight. You can keep it to use in later dungeons, or drop it if you want (each Gremlin General will drop one).

3. Ascension key/crystal - There are more of these you can find (more than you need for the quests). Visit temples to find more.

4. Marking the map - this is a planned feature. Thankfully in this case there are more Ahnais Statues spread throughout the world. The placement logic is every 3x3 section of the map has 1 statue if there is a valid spot, and it only places on Forest/Plains/Desert.
