blob or projected? whats overall best visual

Forrest, Shadows are less important to me than the overall visual. I play on pc and the default lighting in Hill 30 varies from chapter to chapter. Generally it seems to record on the dark side. The video menu settings can be bumped up and experimented with.

that didn't answer the question, which is the higher setting? blob or projected.

Higher setting is projected. Projected shadows will look and act more like ray traced shadows. This is an Unreal 2.0 game, and at the time of release, projected shadows were cutting edge. Most older games faked shadows with "blobs." ...Projected shadows not only look more realistic, they are also sharper... and give a higher degree of realism.
