Console players have waaaay less recoil compared to PC players. Fair or not?
Hi,

I have noticed after the last patch that assault rifles in particular have become considerably less fun to use because of their increased recoil and shot spread for PC players.

After watching Youtube streamer 'Maxiq' who uses a controller and seeing that his guns are like lasers in how accurate and recoil 'less all the guns he showcases are I think too much disadvantage is being applied to PC users. Maxiq is a console/controller player yet he has games where he lands 200+ kills FOR 1 game...

Making guns worse for a portion of players I think is wrong especially when their is the option to enable turning off crossplay IF console players feel like they are unable to compete with cross platform play.

I would like to ask the developers to watch Maxiq's Youtube videos and his gameplay and reconsider the nerfs being applied to PC players.

Assault rifles are just not fun to use now.

Switched to an SMG yesterday and it was more accurate at long range compared to an assualt rifle.

Hi dyn4mo, thanks for replying.

Didn't realise that increasing FOV increases accuracy. Sounds like you may have found a secret mechanic which needs trying out.

Good to hear that the spread is going to be fixed. On some guns it is really bad now and noticeable.

I have noticed something strange - to me - when using AR's that when I crouch the reticle becomes bigger as opposed to when I stand normally. This is the wrong way around right?
You would think that crouching should tighten the accuracy by making the players base more stable so the cross hairs should shrink but the opposite is true.

Hey Powerplaya27,

Increasing your FOV gives less visible recoil. You want to increase it as much as possible before it hinders your ability to spot enemy players. My FOV is set at 84. Also using sights/scopes around x1.5 has a massive difference in visible recoil over 3x and 4x scopes and sights for example. Definitely try it out and you'll see for yourself.

Increasing your FOV is the same in Warzone and all FP shooters. -

kneeling would tighten accuracy for ADS not HF, but you wouldn't walk around then, but crouching is only useful for sneaking around & surfing =D

meanwhile about FOV, default is 55, I lowered it to 50 (minimum), because the image doesn't warp like this. recoil will be the same whatever FOV or resolution you play, really it's about getting the right mouse settings & maybe learning the 'uniform soldier aiming' setting which is implemented as default now (since update).

must be the reason why 99% of my console teammates suck some seriously big ♥♥♥♥ everytime i play hazard zone

Thanks for the vid link dyn4mo. Visual recoil is interesting but makes sense to increase FOV to give a more stable viewpoint. Will try this.

Thanks Jez, good point re hipfire vs zoomed in with the crouch/reticle thing I mentioned.

well, i'm in-game thinking about this and the reticle actually gets smaller when crouched (using AR)

Jez, it was 1 assault rifle. After I tested it on different guns it shrunk the reticle as you would expect when crouched.

If I see it happen again i'll post what gun it was. Def. was an assault rifle.

RE: FOV Wow, just played with 100 FOV soldier on foot and it really does make hitting targets easier. No doubt about it. Funny thing is, I always thought pro players used 100+ FOV because it gives more sight on your sides but I think it's the visual recoil benefit which was in the jackfrags video.

LMG was like a laser when running 100 FOV so thanks for that dyn4mo.

imagine controlling recoil in controller, of course they do this, atleast theres no aim assist akin to apex
