Game doesn't launch
I've reinstalled through Steam, checked files, reinstalled again. The splash loading screen showing season 5 and anti-cheat loads up, then disappears, and... nothing. No game launch. The EA App remains open and shows I have BF2042 in the EA App. Try launching from the EA App or from Steam, same deal. Nothing opens after the splash loading screen completes.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

Newest drivers, Adrenalin 23.5.2.

I was able to get this working - uninstalling the EA App, then downloading the EA App installer fresh from their website and reinstalling.

Reinstalling BF2042 and the EA App from Steam did not work. Repairing the EA App installation also did not work. Only the fresh installer from EA's website did the trick.

You can also try reinstalling the anticheat. this worked for me when I had the same issue.

I have had this issue for the past week and nothing has helped. Brought my ram speed from 6000 to 4800, took GPU clock speed down, reintalled full game, reinstalled EA app with direct download and also from BF2042 auto download. Reinstalled anti cheat, turned defender and firewall off, downgraded GPU drivers and Windows version. Sometimes the game loads and then closes with no error while loading the map, other times it doesnt even open. Not a clue on what to do next, but very frustrating to say the least.

I managed to get the game working yesterday (couldn't open it at all on friday) by verifying the game files' integrity and making exceptions on my antivirus software for EA app, Steam and the game itself. But the game started lagging like crazy and my ping was over 90 all the time (it was never over 38 before and I have over 320 hours in it), so I don't know did I actually fix anything. I'll try this if my problem continues.

Having the same issue as well. It's very inconsistent for me. Sometimes it'll launch and run ok but more often than not it just refuses to launch and crashes itself.

It's annoying but each time i go to play, I end any EA stuff in the console. It has worked every time after, for me.

Also turning off Control flow guard (CFG) from windows defender exploit protection helps folks.
