You don't, but you do for other games on steam. This is just silly, I only use DS4 Windows for all my other games. This is just retarded that I need to kill DS4 Windows to play this game then turn it on again to play anything else. A mouse and Keyboard is already a better advantage than any controller.

Finally someone else noticed this too. I've been furious about this issue since the newest update (8.0.1). How is this being blocked by the anti-cheat? I hope they fix it soon.
I tried playing on MnK -- I just stood over a dead body, trying my absolute best to figure out what key revives them, while they're ♥♥♥♥ talking to me in chat, saying they're going to report me for being a toxic player, haha.

You don't need DS4Windows or DualSenseX if you're playing games on Steam. You can just turn on "force steam input" which forces the game to run steam's inhouse and pre-packaged controller emulator that assigns your controller as a "generic microsoft controller" , thus allowing you to play with virtually any controller.

You don't need DS4 for steam at all, just force steam input.
