Can't take down my own portal experience
I know I'm not the only one with this issue. Simply put, if you leave your own server that you host, it still stays up and you cannot take it down, can't host a new server, nothing. It's just stuck there for god knows how long. There seems to be zero fix for this whatsoever. Not even the update today fixed this issue.

At this rate I'm gonna end up playing Ravenfield for custom games

someone hacked your server and took control. really annoying when that happens. you can no longer kick or ban anyone also.

That seems less likely than simply a bug. Happened to me yesterday, so today I added a PW to the server (game is me + AI). Same issue - left the game and can't close it down (error message.) Not sure why anyone would ever bother to "hack" my server...
Okay I may or may not have somehow found a "fix" to this by accident. When it shows that you are still hosting it, first click "Take Down" and wait until it fails. Then click "Join Game". When I do that the screen switches to what you expect- the menu where you can pick what you want to host. Everything works fine from there. If you back out the server is still somehow running and you'll have to do it all again but I've tried this twice now and it's somehow worked both times, even though I feel like I tried this 100 times in the past.

Regardless this is the closest to a fix that I can get to, so I hope this works or helps anyone else struggling with this issue. I'm not sure why it happens but there you go

Same bug. I cannot take down my own Portal server. I created it. Than exit.
but it remain active. It is freezed somehow.
I cannot take down it - get Error.
i have the exact same issue. Created a portal server with a password, with the intention of playing alone against bots, after leaving it, it persists and trying to shut it down throws an error code.

I tried @DevDoesGaming recommendation and tried to rejoin my own server straight after it fails to close down. However instead of fixing the issue, it just randomly joined me into some strangers other custom portal lobby.

WTF is going on in their server backend?! Using their janky website for setting up portal is bad enough, this just adds insult to injury.

I can't even make up a reason why it would do that. I hate to sound like most people but this battlefield really is the most unstable of them all, I've always ran into issues since launch day.

This fixed my issue. I even have my options set to not allow the server to persist when I leave it. Seems like that is a hollow setting.
