What’s causing the issue?

It’s not directly related to the game itself, but rather a "rogue" program introduced by a Windows update called GameInput. This app allows users to configure gaming controllers and accessories. However, there was already an older version of this app in Windows, which causes the crash.

How to fix it:

Open Windows Settings
Go to Applications and search for "GameInput".

Uninstall the older version
Uninstall the GameInput app that appears. This is the older version causing the issue.

Optional Additional Steps

You can also go to the Windows app folder and double-check that everything related to the GameInput program is deleted. It should already be gone, but this is just an extra precaution.
