There's no challenge with human players either. Unless you count the hit detection lottery as a "challenge".
I'm just holding it to the standards of other multiplayer games.
they don't tell you this on games spec requirements, but the download speed is crucially tied to how fast the mobo can actually utilize the speed.
my old mobo and pc was completely up to spec for the game, but i noted my internet download speeds were half of what i was supposed to be getting from my isp, and this caused multiple issues in games that have a high data stream like this, most noted was when i played this in a discord party, discord would constantly have connection issues and i would be kicked from my own voice channel until i alt tabbed and gave priority back to discord.
after upgrading my pc, i noted that my new mobos internet capabilities actually favored my internet speeds, whilst my old one, (i was completely unaware of this,) throttled my connection speeds to less than half and this would cause issues in games like this.
after my upgrade, not a single hit detection issue ever.
i haven't been kicked from discord once playing the game either.
im starting to think they need to add mobo specs to the min requirements for things like this, because just having "fast" internet these days doesn't mean anything if your mobo can't even take the max download speed, and im sure there's plenty of people on here with older computers that they don't think they have to upgrade because technically, their mobos support all the modern hw that they have connected to their rigs, but if the mobo is old enough to NOT support a fast enough internet speed by todays standards, you will in fact have issues like hit registration and such.
it's crazy i know, we shouldn't have to update like this but because they don't exactly say your mobo can affect gameplay lots and lots of people are completely unaware that it is exactly THAT which is holding them back.
spoken to a few of my friends on the subject, they all have great rigs but because of the age of the mobos they have, the internet that was available back when said models was produced was what determined the limit for speeds on those boards, we are now 5+ or 10+ more years passed when lots of people got their machines built or bought and internet speeds are far greater than they used to be, just upgrading your cpu and gpu and ram isn't enough anymore, some people require a new mobo like i did.
Too often I see 5 hits on client side and 4 hits on server side which is really frustrating.
Tho I don't expect BF6 to be much better in that regard, but we will see.
BF series always had the best netcode of all multiplayer military shooter games.
Any unreal engine game can be immediately stricken out because unreal engine doesn't support lag compensation.
BF _is_ a standard.
And no, it's not perfect. It's just better by a mile than others.
