Anyone Play On A 55" TV With DLSS On 4k Max Settings? With A 4080 or 4090
I almost regret buying a 7900xtx now because I can't use DLSS in 2042 so I might return it. I already had a 6800xt for a year before buying this.

I play on a 55" Samsung QN90B 120hz TV. Do you notice a graphical difference with DLSS Quality vs DLSS Off? The best way to see if you can notice a difference would be to stand still in some area (playing on of the easier modes with bots) and see how good objects/structures look in the distance.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JdHfS1dSER8 I don't notice any difference here and DLSS On Quality it looks a bit better in the first scene and virtually the same on the second so I guess I answered my own question, there would likely be virtually no difference most of the time.

The difference would be more noticeable on a larger screen since it has a smaller pixel density.

there is a difference and it is greater the higher the level obviously. i play at 1440p 2k, in regard to this it is a small monitor at 24" so the pixel density is high thus giving better detail and less need for AntiAliasing so it's less blurry too, i still notice DLSS, but it doesn't change greatly at the Quality setting. DLSS is a life-saver for the budget.
why are you not getting the fps you need then?

I see the DLSS effect more when moving

That is why I was trying to find people who play on a 55" screen like me because you would notice the difference more since the pixel density is lower with 4k Native Ultra vs DLSS Quality On 4k Ultra.

I get 80-110fps depending on the map and where I am, AMD Adrenaline says my average is 98.6fps.

My specs are.

i7 12700kf (not overclocked)
Sapphire 7900XTX Nitro+ Vapor-X (not overclocked)
Kingston Furry Beast 16GB DDR5 Ram 5200mhz (But I think it is on 4800MHZ mode)

https://youtu.be/OCvgpSuczw0?t=224 It's because he turns on DLSS Quality and gets so much more FPS which has almost made me regret buying this 7900XTX now, I might exchange it for a 4080 but I am not sure yet.

I could use AMD FSR but you need to lower your resolution to use that. Thats how it normally is for DLSS right? Unless a game has the feature built in.

Planetside 2 has FSR and DLSS and you can use it on any GPU and you don't need to lower your resolution to have it on.

the pixel density is fixed into the monitor. resolution stays the same with DLSS, it's programmed using AI (a super-computer) instead of your GPU, in-effect DLSS is prepared for your GPU to render, DLSS is built-in. it does effect resolutions on stuff though and balances this with Super Sampled AntiAliasing I think. DLSS2 is global but the game has to support it, whereas DLSS1 is tailored for each game. Meanwhile with NIS (nVIDIA Image Scaling) you need lower the resolution and your GPU renders then up-scales it to the native, it works on all games. I'm not sure how FSR works it looks like it's based on distance in FarCry6 & HiredGun. DLSS2 gets updated, I think it looks better now, and nVIDIA RTX also gives you extra Ray Tracing performance.
Can you really just send your new card back?

The store I purchased it from has 15 day returns and tomorrow is the last day I can return it.

The 7900xtx has been great and I have gotten a big performance boost in the games I play but the only reason I am gonna return it for a 4080 is just because bf 2042 has DLSS and bf 2042 is a game I play regularly and will play regularly for at least 12-15 more months. I will likely buy a RTX 5090 in May 2025.

You even notice a difference in graphics quality on a 24 inch monitor? With DLSS Quality vs DLSS off? On 4k maximum settings.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JdHfS1dSER8 I don't believe it because it looks almost the same here.

I think you will still notice differences more on a bigger screen, I know pixel density is fixed into the monitor/tv but with a bigger screen, differences would be more noticeable.

I play at 2k but the ratio is nearly the same, but i guess you sit more than twice as far from your TV as I do my monitor. ye DLSS shows and more-so when running around, also the effects & reflections are a bit distorted sometimes.
good luck with it

okay meanwhile if you can run it at 120FPS consistently then that's a bonus, you can apply V-Sync, note that I use V-Sync and my GPU usage is 50-100%

No I actually play with the screen only 3.3-3.7 feet away from my face. I have tried playing with it further back before but I prefer it closer.

I never use V-Sync because it increases input lag. The Samsung QN90B I am on is 10-11ms input lag on 120hz which is good but not the best, most gaming monitors are 0.5-5ms input lag.
Jez 16 ABR 2023 a las 6:14 p. m.
i think if you can run V-Sync consistently then input lag is down to monitor & GPU specs, instead of tearing in half another frame, so not much. G-Sync is still limited by refresh rate, but is ideal when you don't run a consistent frame-rate, like when you are pushing GPU & in-game settings, each has its own negative effect, nothing is perfect as is V-Sync 360Hz 0.5ms for example.
One needs to be careful buying an expensive monitor because manufacturers push sales for high-spec monitors but then your rig need to be much much more expensive to push 2042, but to run CSGO (as is often advertised) is a different story

other things you may want to consider running nVIDIA is turning off texture filter optimisations & overriding in-game AntiAliasing in the nVIDIA Control Panel because they cause distortion especially when running DLSS

Is it close to how bad the Dynamic Resolution feature looks when moving around? That looks really bad it makes the graphics worse for everything in the distance.

there is console commands that let you set specific render resolutions, the built in scaler is actually quite nice looking so that is an option. I was playing at 85% res scale at 1080p and with a little sharpening from the driver it looked like native.

Forgot to mention that AMD has FSR 1 built into the driver so you could use that as well but the results will not be as good as DLSS/FSR2.2.
It's an absolute travesty they never put in FSR 2, this game needs it.
