Question for BF veterans about cheaters
From your experience, when Bf5 came out or bf1 came out, how long did it take for cheaters to become a common thing? A month? Few months? A week?

Asking because I absolutely loved the gameplay of mentioned titles but one of the things I value the most in games is immersion and even if there is a single cheater in every few games, I lose any will to play.

And let's say a solid month of almost cheater free bf experience would be good enough for me. Asking too much?

few hrs, but according to some news from other users - 2042 must be with new anticheat which show pretty good results at other games

I can't answer your original question as I soon abandoned both BF1 and BF5 games because I didn't like them compared to the older ones.

But what I can inform you is that BF1/5 only had one anti-cheat and it was server-side. It used a anti-cheat called fairfight. They also moved away from the community/clan run servers by stopping the sale of servers from 3rd party server hosts and stopped the use of server admin tools. doing this meant there were hardly any servers with admins actively removing cheaters like there was in the older BF games. Compared to their older games BF3/4 it had 2 anti-cheats, client and server side and it had active admins kicking cheaters from their servers.

This new BF game will have a new way to run the servers compared to any of their older games so its still unsure how they will really work in terms for control for the admins. We will also be getting a client-side anti-cheat called Easy Anti-cheat, IMO its currently the best one available but that doesn't mean its 100% cheat proof.

I've played BF games pretty regularly since 1942 with a brief pass on BF vietnam, Bad Company 1, and Hardline and I never played BF modern combat though let's be real, how many of us did lol.

Cheaters have been there since Battlefield was conceived. It was far less in the old days though still pretty common.

Supposedly, more steps beyond EAC will be taken in 2042 along with other companies (see Ubisoft and Bungie coordinating to bring cheat sellers to court) to deter cheating further. Hopefully these steps help curve it back to reasonable levels.

There is no such thing as anti cheat. Cheaters are coming. All you can do is adapt

The development companies use "anti cheat" to more or less mean the reporting and logging system of cheaters. Punk buster and battle eye as examples.

I've been playing a lot of BF1 recently and while there are cheaters it doesn't seem to be a big problem. Maybe a cheater for every 20+ games played. It'll usually be something like invisible player model and/or aimbot.
As for BFV, I was recently playing that too. I uninstalled a few weeks ago after putting in a few hours. Cheaters in practically every game I played.

And they are beat within minutes. No such thing as antil cheat. Just a challenge for cheaters to beat.

You're saying when you click on someone's name and report them, that they are circumventing the reporting process itself?

Nope. Nice reach. Best not to attempt to mind read. More often than not, you will guess wrong.

There's nothing that can be done about cheaters. Just have to learn to live with them.

The original reply I made to you was regarding the nature of what "Anti Cheat" programs really are since their name is sort of a misnomer. They have less to do with blocking cheat software and more to do with the reporting and logging of players who are believed to be cheating. Hope that clarifies what I said.

If your excited or hopeful about them changing to EAC then calm down because EAC isn't any better than fairfight. It just has a different name.
