Account ban
Is there something wrong with your anti-cheating system? I didn't play games at 2:40 a.m. on the 25th, and then I was banned today inexplicably. I'm very angry.

Contact EA support, just an FYI but you don't have to specifically be cheating in order to get a ban, running any software that has the ability to allow you program and run macros can also result in a ban.

Login to your EA account at ea.com and go to your account and you'll see a section for bans/warnings, in there you will see your ban and an option to appeal it.

Be sure if you appeal that you list any software you have running usually alongside your games including keyboard or mouse software, make it as detailed as you can so that your case will be looked at, sometimes with anticheat, as rare as it is when it's automated, sometimes AC will flag something completely innocent.

Good luck!

Never met someone who got banned who wasn't actually found to be cheating in the end.

Curious where does the specific time "2:40am on the 25th" come from ?

this is ironic, because steam itself allows you to make macros

never heard of a false positive have you lol. when you have a scripted program managing cheat detection with zero human reviewing, youll get alot of false positives and bans o those who shouldnt be

Using third party software. Same broken record conversation.

No, typically you won't get "a lot" of bans that shouldn't be. Guys take one or two memories and apply them to the rest of their existence. It's not a common occurrence, even if you tell people it is. What's common is usually the people crying, because they're usually cheaters.

well, not on steam. in other games i've seen it happen and ban waves reversed.

I know of at least one person! My brother was banned on Runescape many years ago.
We were playing a lot at the time when we lived together.
I appealed it for him and he was unbanned, they thought his playtime was suspicious, but I explained that he has health conditions and doesnt leave his room..

Banned over playtime? I never played runescape but that sounds ridiculous. It also sounds like it was a conscious decision by them, which I think is different than EA bans but I'm not 100%.

That's nasty. If they didn't reverse it, they likely still wouldn't be making games. Or maybe they're not?

Anywho, maybe these guys got reported enough times for griefing if it wasn't cheating. There's plenty of toxic behaviour in online lobbies and this game definitely didn't miss the memo XD

That happened several times over the past few years with EA, affecting thousands of accounts. The bans were eventually revoked.

Punkbuster bans if I recall, PB was flagging something legitimate, FRAPS ( game capture software ) being one of the apps I remember getting flagged, It's rare though for an AC to flag something legitimate.

Wasn't that during BF3? I think I remember that. It was like 150 accounts, everyone said it was THE WHOLE INTERNET and nerds everywhere lost their minds over nothing. I think this is all the same stuff, some people just get so dramatic and make it seem like a bigger issue than it is. My money still lies on the bans being legit in this case.
