Dont cope about a future Battlefield in development because Delta Force has released Battlefield concept as free game. You can never compete free games today. It is what it is. PUBG is leading battle royal franchise because its free. Delta force is releasing this month.
Dice can do whatever they want for a future project, but people are now smarter to not pre-order any of your games. Make sure the next battlefield is one hit wonder, otherwise this IP is surely dead and Delta Force takes all market shares of military fps game. It's good to have a competitor but dont think Dice is going to be a success in their next game.

The new delta farce is trash and does not live up to stealing the title from Novalogic games. The sound design in bf2042 (the least liked battlefield game) still has better graphics , sound and player count than delta farce. End of thread

There have been numerous successful paid games since free live service games took off in the later 2010s. As far as I can tell, the recent Call of Duty sold well despite the free xDefiant for instance. Even if a game is free, it needs appeal to maintain a long-term playerbase, and Battlefield games tend to be sold for cheap after a few years anyway.

The majority of players on BF2042 and COD games are N. American console players. COD and 2042 are f2p with an Xbox Game Pass. Until Delta Force has crossplay with console versions they're going to have problems maintaining a large enough PC player base to compete. They know this.
