The game crashes randomly. Avast? Aida64? What it can be?
I'm giving this game a second chance, but after a while the game crashes at the middle of the gameplay. It's weird, I have Windows 11, my PC beats recommended requirements far away, and is recently formatted. I remember to have this problem before, and I suspect of two programs: Avast and AIDA64. Those are the only potencially conflictive ones running behind the game. My Nvidia drivers are updated, the same for Windows, Avast and all stuff, so I don't know exactly what can be happening. Anti-cheat software and the game itself are allowed to work by firewall too. Besides, is the only one game crashing of all installed right now. Did someone have this problem before? Any tip to fix it is welcome. Thanks.

Could try
Clearing cache in bf 2042 document
Verify game files, reinstall easy anti cheat
Open command prompt as admin type sfc /scannow
Restart pc

Is what I had to do when it was closing randomly mid game
Has not came back since

Also ensure steam service was able to inject with the game, try steam FPS counter to tell, if it doesn’t show, retry

Applications such as lighting software (Mystic lighting, Aura Sync etc), antivirus etc can cause integrity errors with EAC which trigger a bugcheck crashing either the game or windows. Avast and AIDA64 are unlikely to be the culprit but EAC is very sensitive to certain programs, you most likely have a program running in the background that is tripping EAC. Check what background programs are running on boot and disable what you don't need running.

Thanks for your answer, but looking the system log I found this at the time the game crashed:
File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheatSys' (6.1, ‎2022‎-‎05‎-‎30T04:23:07.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.
It seems Windows is shutting down the anti-cheat system and when that happens, the game closes. In the log this appears like an information, not an error, warning either.
I ran sfc /scannow, RestoreHealth, repaired Easy AntiCheat installation, and I don't know what else to try

Yup, same issue I had last last patch
And no, not repair, they recommend completely remove/uninstall easy anti cheat, and than verify game files let it reinstall, if you didn't already(delete from actual game files, than verify)
the log is also perfectly normal, it means EAC shutdown normally
What the likely cause is, something is being restricted access, or experiencing a memory leak(not working as intended)

I can further put my exact steps to fix later if above doesn't work!

Thanks. At least it doesn't happen only in my PC. I'm going to try what you say. Uninstall, delete all files inside the Battlefield folder, then repair game files and reinstall, right? I'll post here if it works.

try to add the easy anticheat as an exeption on the antivirus, many people(in different games) are having issues because of it

Well, I tried unblocking all firewall, even disabling Avast, but that's not the problem. Besides, it happens after a while playing. I suppose if was the firewall, it wouldn't let begin the gameplay

Well, it doesn't work. I've tried removing EAC, repairing game files in Steam and running again the game. It's totally the same as before, I can play one match. I begin the second one and it crashes. In other forums some people says was hardware failure, system updates, or DirectX. I'm sure my PC is updated, hardware working and Windows is installed from 5 days ago. I'm starting to think to not play this game anymore, but if EAC is the problem, it'll happen the same bug in any game with this garbage included. I have games working with Denuvo and other things, and this anti-cheat software is the first making me rage quit to hell.

By the sound of things it sounds like it's not a firewall, software issue or an issue with EAC inherently, but it's likely a hardware or driver issue that is tripping EAC and making Windows unstable. I'd suggest you re-install your graphics driver (GPU crashing has been very common since the Season 1 patch), stress test your CPU, RAM and GPU and re-install Windows. Also if you are overclocking your GPU this will cause BF2042 to crash.

It's difficult to accurately troubleshoot what's causing the problem here on Steam discussions and in an online forum in general with little information to go on so I would honestly recommend you re-install Windows. I recommend using this guide to get the most out of your system with the least amount of possible issues you may face in the future and to get the maximum amount of performance and stability out of your hardware. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J31Q8T-1eNk&ab_channel=FR33THY

Usually the problem sits in front of the computer.

How it comes i never had problems with the game, of course im not a complete moron.

Imagine that i start a game and it actually works, because i know how to use a computer.

Oh there are such things like ports, and Nat Types exists.
Oh there is a Antivirus that might block MY ENTIRE game.
Oh there is a firewall, what is a firewall?
etc....

Ppl are idiots you can't blame the game for it.

Got another few

Oh what the ♥♥♥♥ is Nahimic, why it hurts my game?
Oh i got a mouse and keyboard app running in the background, that might not be combatible, do i have to deactive it?
Oh what is a graphics driver update, or what is windows update why i need it?
Oh what are runtimes, is this needed do i have to install it?
Oh what is pagefile, did i accidently deactivate it because i thought im smart?

Always there's the probablity of bugs in anti-cheat systems when the architecture system is customized like mine, and before asking here, I tried with all possible causes before, like firewalls, ports, updates, broken files, registries and hardware. If rare cases weren't happen, then you are saying all people in help forums are idiots, just because in your PC works well. I'm IT engeneer and programmer, so I know weird cases could happen in any system, and some programs has "tricks" or hotfixes to make them work well. So please, if you know what is the "obvious" problem here, say it to me and I'll thank you. If not, go to help with your great knowledge to another moron. Thanks.

How is the crash?
(my bf42 used to crash (1fps) and this made my pc lag very badly even though bf42 had stopped in task manager, forcing me to restart my pc).

My crash issue was the driver, reinstalling the driver with DDU fix my game.

Idk about EAC, maybe try to remember some programs that you installed before you coming back playing bf42.

Hello. When it crashes, it closes without error message. All my system is updated, the only reason I think it's the EAC software is because this message in the Windows event log (in spanish):
Filtro de sistema de archivos 'EasyAntiCheatSys' (6.1, ‎2022‎-‎05‎-‎30T04:23:07.000000000Z) correctamente cargado y registrado con el administrador de filtros.
Is the only one game with this problem. I think I tried everything
AeliaViHappi Jun 24, 2022 @ 6:19am
Have you tried this?
https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/guides/verify/
your AV should not be the issue (check in the left sidebar)

The only time i had an issue with EAC, what i do was abandoning the game for a weeks then it fixed by itself lol, weird but true.

The service is already setted following the instructions. Now there's an update available in Windows, maybe it fixes the bug. You are right, sometimes an update or installation unknown fixes some problems and when you try again after some time it works well without any user change. Maybe this time happens.
