BF 2042 - Crashing/won't launch..

After pressing play game on steam the little ea games box show up telling me its preparing the game. after a while that box disappears and the crash message show up. I've tried re-installing it, fixed the ea app and tried many different things, still won't run and the same error box pop up.

Just also bought this game. Same issue; Launches game and gets stuck on "Preparing Game" and hangs for a bit then crashes. Attempted to log into a different account and it launches perfectly. Getting a little stumped on troubleshooting this issue. We've tried clearing the cache for the EA app. As well as fresh install, insuring the EA app and steam were linked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
