Which means it has lost it's PC player base, which is what made it popular to begin with. CoD has always been for consoles first and PC last, Battlefield was our PC play space from 1942 and Vietnam onwards. So yes you are right, console version has become more popular, and thus it has become a CoD-Like with BF modes.
Truthfully 2042 could be a Ground War game mode if the Activation devs felt like it; mouse input already feels like a controller trying to emulate a mouse.
See Quake, Doom or any other game derived from their game engines to see what I mean about mouse input; much quicker, more accurate, less lag. Also there are tools such as NVIDIA Reflex or Intel Present Mon to show you how and why 2042 in particular is slower in input latency, now even CoD has better input latency than BF (Warzone I have not bought MW 2/3 nor intend to, why reward bad devolopment)
Regarding mouse input lags I didn't had any issues yet. Playing on 120fps (capped) with nvidia dlss3 and it feels very good.
Also everyone is already tired of the current season, we. want. new. sh!t.
Which is just around the corner, btw. Let's talk about numbers in 2 weeks.
And that is just steam numbers. I imagine the EA players (people who bought it on EA play) are much higher.
Exactly the same number of players as "Hell Let Loose". And Squad have 12000 players... so yeah, this game is doing very poorly.
