Most players are playing via EA, PS5 etc. :)

Which means it has lost it's PC player base, which is what made it popular to begin with. CoD has always been for consoles first and PC last, Battlefield was our PC play space from 1942 and Vietnam onwards. So yes you are right, console version has become more popular, and thus it has become a CoD-Like with BF modes.

Truthfully 2042 could be a Ground War game mode if the Activation devs felt like it; mouse input already feels like a controller trying to emulate a mouse.

See Quake, Doom or any other game derived from their game engines to see what I mean about mouse input; much quicker, more accurate, less lag. Also there are tools such as NVIDIA Reflex or Intel Present Mon to show you how and why 2042 in particular is slower in input latency, now even CoD has better input latency than BF (Warzone I have not bought MW 2/3 nor intend to, why reward bad devolopment)

But you can play on PC without using steam too. I think, that players on PC are using EA rather than Steam. Reasons could be a lower price (on December/January it just cost 2€) or the EA game pass, where you pay 25€ per year or smth like that. I was stupid buying this game on steam via key instead directly via EA. But I also checked steam charts where Battlefield 2042 had more active players on steam than now.

Regarding mouse input lags I didn't had any issues yet. Playing on 120fps (capped) with nvidia dlss3 and it feels very good.

I have like 10 friends on EA app. The only one I know who is on Steam, is my stepbrother. Their games library and friends list is on EA app so, that's why they stay on it I guess.

What's wrong with 7400 people playing on a Tuesday morning at 08:39 GMT+1 only on steam?

6500 only on steam is pretty good in my eyes. Dunny why some of you always expect millions of players.

Maybe because before 3 months Battlefield 2042 broke it's player count record with more than 103.000, only on Steam?!But that was around holidays^^

Dude it's kinda middle of the week.

Also everyone is already tired of the current season, we. want. new. sh!t.

Which is just around the corner, btw. Let's talk about numbers in 2 weeks.

And that is just steam numbers. I imagine the EA players (people who bought it on EA play) are much higher.

My bro and I switch to COD DM. At least were playing for purpose and can play tactical. I stop caring after BF4 came out and COD reminds me that I’m a sore loser. Lol. Seems cross play chased all the PC players away though from these two games. I don’t think it will get better for BF, maybe for COD since that seems like the superior fps.

Exactly the same number of players as "Hell Let Loose". And Squad have 12000 players... so yeah, this game is doing very poorly.
