sniper rifles are pointless

why on earth are these sniper rifles sooo pathetically under powered. the whole idealogy behind sniping is to take out a target with a single shot and move silently away without them noticing. unless they have ceramic plating on their chest and torso they should be getting dropped one shot at upper torso. Only time I have noticed I get a one shot kill is a headshot. Hell i hit them in the neck and it takes at least 2 shots. otherwise it takes more than 2 bullets or more depending on the weapon to take out a player. lol. i get it is arcadish rubbish of a game, but the ballistics penetration physics are absolute trash. f'in hilarious.

seriously? is this your first fps game? imagine a sniper rifle would do one shot body kill. everybody would run a sniper rifle with a red dot... i mean come on :D

they are not pointless. they work as intended. hs is insta kill. you need aim. like a sniper :D snipers are ennoying enough in this game...

Game favors run and gun arcade gameplay. Assault and smgs rule even at distance. This isnt battlefield its a ♥♥♥♥ call of duty clone. Balance sucks, huge desyncs, pick a gun that goes brrr and you are pro. This game has the most unreliable shooting unless you aim assist console player. Back to BF1.

I know why they do it the way they do as Snipers would be overpowered if they could one shot body shot; however its kinda funny as the BF series has tended to be the more "realistic" of military shooters and snipers never shoot for the head as its too small of a target.

Sniper rifles are really good in this game just as in all Battlefield games (where their behavior has been identical), so this sounds like a skill issue. Of course it takes two body shots to kill a target, as otherwise the game would be heavily tilted toward low-skill, cowardly bush campers. It takes no skill to hit a single body shot but it takes far more to hit two body shots (or a single headshot), as the target gets an opportunity to get behind cover after the first hit (which also serves to make the game feel less "random").

I guess this is your first BF game because what you say is horse****. 2042 is by far very different from previous BF games, from pacing to mechanics and more. Even more so for sniping. Its not skill issue, its bugs, desyncs, crap netcode and unreliable shooting. Snipers are obsolete in this game, pick an automatic weapon and be effective at all ranges.
