Game doesn't start.

Anyone got this issue where you launch the game through steam it pulls up EA play then the loading splash screen comes up followed by the game just not starting and the splash screen closing with no error message?

Same thing happened with BF5 but was fixed by just not downloading it through steam and downloading it on the EA play app instead. but BF2042 doesn't seem to have that option. You only have the option to download it through steam if you purchased it there. Both games were purchased through steam.

i had to completely remove the game and reinstall it to get EA play to work... i think some stuff from Origin was perhaps giving issues in the game directory. Not completely sure ofcourse but i did fixed the issue that way

Yeah I've reinstalled EA play like 5 times and reinstalled the game 3 times, so none of that is working for me. The same ♥♥♥♥ was happening to BF5 aswell and downloading it directly from EAplay instead of downloading it on steam fixed it over there, so I assume this is an issue with the EA play in relation to steam itself.

Probably will just have to refund if they don't come out with a fix in a week or so I guess.

ah i mean actually completely remove it (remove the stuff in the appdata folder n all) found some where a forum post somewhere that pointed this out there some files still there that might conflict (i know its not the answer you want to hear, i had the same.. tried other stuff before that which all didn't worked until all the stuff was removed correctly)

I'll try deep cleaning the files and see if it works though I doubt it will considering this seems to be a problem with the way the game is communicating with steam. Will have to check after I get off work.

I don't know if might help but in my case what actually fixed my crashing issue is by going back to wired. I own a Razer Deathadder v3 pro and while playing with the HyperPolling dongle the game kept crashing inconsistently sometimes at launch, before entering a match or just by moving my mouse after entering a match. You guys should give it a try. I still have to try it the original dongle. I'll let you guys know if it's working or not.

So after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around for about a day trying to figure this ♥♥♥♥ out I've finally found my solution, which was disabling windows flow control guard. It's funny because I used to have this disabled but recently enabled it to get another game to work.

Clearing cache worked for me

Open ea app top left go to help > app recovery. window pops up then clear cache. worked for me

ive cleared my cache and verified the integrity of my files. mine keeps saying "this file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. install app or create association in default settings page"?

Sadly not my friend the clearing of the cache makes zero difference to me. Over 2 weeks now for me with no access

There 3 corrupted files find after viryfication of the installed files of the game!
I send a message to the EA support!
