I BOUGHT 2042. But I can’t start it, I’m constantly checking Steam files. Dancing with restoring EA and clearing the cache does not help. What to do?

Was gifted this last night and when try to play today sure enough it wont work, opens EALauncher then says no access, Launcer shows connected to my steam. Hope I can at least return the gift. le sigh

BF2042 is greyed out in ea app. Can't start it there. When starting it in steam or from files it will always say You don't have access. Time to refund I guess...

delete origin files from battlefield 2042 folder then go to ea app > top left corner 3 bars > help > restart app

What files do you mean? Ive only the steamfiles in "steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042"
No "origin" files..

step 1: go to : C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\
step 2: Right Click BF2042.exe > Run as Administrator.
step 3: close Dialogue from EA.
step 4: Run again from Steam. Enjoy Game

There's an odd issue I ran into once that is not published on EA's help site. The EA/Origin app only allows you connect to one Steam account and only one time. You can unlink it, but you will not be able to link to a different account. Only the same one.

You can try uninstalling the EA app/ clearing all files, reinstalling and relogging into the EA app. Then reboot and start the game via Steam

Had to run the repair from SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\installer\Origin\redist\internal multiple times, eventually it worked.

mh.. after some time of waiting & trying the game is in my library and i can play it.
Did nothing of these steps.
